Merry Making & Joy of giving

Merry Making

We started our Christmas festivities with our immediate family, the kids begging all week to open gifts, and their patience paid off with their favorite gifts. We then went to my in-laws for Christmas. My choice of what to bring for family gatherings this year? Corn Bread and Cheese Cake. A family favorite for dessert. We had a hearty feast of Prime Rib and Christmas treats.

Aside from presents and food being a few of my favorite things. The favorite traditions in our family are homemade gifts and paying forward by blessing another family. This year I knitted two shawls to gift. One for my Mother in law and another for My husband’s great-grandmother. Feeling joy is tremendous, but sharing joy is invaluable.

Paying forward

Every year I choose a family to share my blessings with. I shared my blessings with my Lash lady and her five children this year. While conversing during our lashing sessions, I hear her struggles as a single mom. Her Stories remind me of all the blessings and to appreciate everything I have in my life.

Family togetherness is what I treasure the most. I love the smiles of family coming together, having fun, and catching up on life with beautiful conversations mostly the expression on their faces when they open their homemade gifts from me.

The Gift of Giving

All in all, We can all give in simple ways. From homemade gifts, sincere smiles, and a helping hand to the gift of quality time. Giving is not limited to the holiday season, making giving a lifestyle, and the blessings and joy it brings are immeasurable. You will never know the impact a simple act of kindness has on others.
